Beerman John
John Beerman is a renowned landscape painter whose evocative works have been celebrated both nationally and internationally. A native of North Carolina and a resident of Hillsborough, Beerman’s artistic journey began with his education at the Rhode Island School of Design, followed by further refinement of his craft at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
Over a distinguished 35-year career, Beerman has earned recognition at the pinnacle of fine art, receiving prestigious honors such as the Pollack-Krasner Foundation Award and the Yaddo Artist Colony Fellowship. His art graces the halls of numerous esteemed institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.
Beyond museum collections, Beerman’s works are featured in several public collections, notably the Duke University Cancer Center, the Duke Endowment, and the North Carolina Governor’s mansion. His expertise in commissioned art is exemplified by his 85-foot mural for the Milstein Family Heart Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital and his bespoke painting for UNC-Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
